Pharmacy gets 'smart' - Delmarva Now
While customers appreciate the ability to have their products delivered, companies always face cost risks. From fuel prices to car troubles, delivery services can often lead to difficulties.
At Riverside and Milford Street Pharmacies, however, these cost risks have been compensated for with the use of every company's favorite business-increasing tool -- advertising.
In mid-December, Fred Batie, owner of the pharmacies, decided it was time to ditch his gas-guzzling Fords in favor of smarter, more environmentally conscious vehicles. It was time for the "Smart Car."
"It was time to replace my Fords and I saw the Smart Cars getting used in Europe. The only downside was that they took 13 months to arrive," said Batie.
The Smart Car Fortwo is a two-door car that became quite popular in Europe and has recently been appearing more frequently throughout the United States. The cars -- which get more than 30 miles per gallon and start at about $12,000 -- can be easily recognized by their unique size at roughly 106 inches long by 61 inches wide.
