Lucerne has some Cadillac features - Muncie Star Press
"Buyers like the Lucerne's ride, styling and feel of quality," said Derrick Johnston, business manager at Ken Kunkle GM in Hartford City. "There are a lot of amenities for the price."
The Lucerne's optional Northstar V8 engine is one feature Buick borrowed from Cadillac to offer on its flagship sedan, he said. Buick's bumper-to-bumper warranty -- four years or 50,000 miles -- also parallels Cadillac's.
The General Motors transferable powertrain warranty, which covers such components as the engine, transmission and drivetrain for five years or 100,000 miles, also applies.
Options and trim packages give buyers considerable ability to tailor the Lucerne's price and equipment level to different needs and budgets, Johnston said.
"All Lucernes come nicely-equipped," he said. "It's a luxurious car whether someone chooses the base CX trim or one of the other packages."
While the base sticker price of a Lucerne is about $30,000, current incentives can reduce the selling price significantly, Johnston added.
