Concept cars, SpongeBob SquarePants, football coach Turner Gill, eco-friendly vehicles and a car-a-day giveaway are major features at the 2009 Buffalo Auto Show. Students looking to switch up their weekend from studying and partying can head over to the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

   The Buffalo Auto Show is more than just a sneak peek at brand new vehicles. Each day attendants can check out a safe driving simulator, watch a professional team "pimp out" an '09 Chevrolet Malibu, and browse a wide variety of cars, trucks and SUVs from manufacturers around the world.

   The show will run through Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8 on Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Buffalo Auto Show Web site.

   Sunday is UB Appreciation Day at the show. There will be no discount on tickets; however, students can watch as coaches Turner Gill and Reggie Witherspoon receive a special tribute from local car dealers.

Information on 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid.?

I am looking into buying a Malibu Hybrid and I just had a few questions. I am six four is there enough leg room/head room for a man my size? I do alot of Highway driving, is it pretty realistic for me to get 30MPG? Any other information that you feel would be helpful would be great. Thanks in advance.

You will be surprised by the interior room in the new style Malibu.The base 2.4 ecotec engine is rated 24 city and 32 hwy MPG.With the 16 gallon fuel tank you have lots of miles between fill ups.This is a safe and fun car to drive and own.All of my customers who own the new style malibu say its one tough car with great options and worth the money.The over all ride and comfort make this a great car.Best of luck.

I know the gas can get more milege but the crude oil may not enough in the future and the price is higher and higher.
CNG/LPG/Hydrogen stations should be more and more......

I think the Prius is the best because you get a reliable car that is easy to maintain with the best mileage.
I own a 2007 Prius and avg. 50 mpg in the summer and about 44mpg in the winter.
If you need the room and utility of an SUV, I would choose the Escape Hybrid. 3,000 tax credit (2WD) on the Escape Hybrid through the end of the year is excellent, as well.
The Mazda Tribute is the same vehicle as the Escape with a Mazda badge. The Tribute Hybrid is only available in CA.

The Malibu and Aura are not true hybrids in the sense of what Toyota and Honda (Civic) are doing.
If you look at the specs of the Malibu and the Aura, you are only going to get 2 mpg more per gallon than the 4 cylinder, but will pay over $4,000 more for the hybrid. Not worth it.

Oh and why not buy a Diesel? Because they cost much more than a hybrid and the cost of diesel fuel is 20-25% more than regular gas.
