In this, our very first installment of the buildup of our 2002 project, a brand-new Nissan Frontier Desert Runner Supercharged V-6, we'll do one of the most radical modifications ever photographed. In this episode, you'll see the off-road-chassis-equipped Nissan (that means the suspension is both wider and hangs lower than a typical 2wd chassis to lay frame) be modified to lay out flat. From our efforts to slam the too-tall Frontier, we found out that this modification would work perfectly to bring a Nissan Pathfinder, a Nissan 4x4, or other vehicle with too much ground clearance down to the ground somewhat inexpensively. Despite what you might think, this isn't the most difficult process you've ever imagined, but it does take some seriously large cajones. For more information, please contact the companies that have assisted us in the buildup of the Frontier. If you want to see the finished product of our efforts, you'll have to wait until the next SEMA Show in Las Vegas rolls around in November. That's where you'll get to see the impossible made reality at the Primedia/Mini Truckin' booth at the show. Lucky for you, we'll be covering every aspect of the truck's progress right here.

How much boost can a 1998 Nissan Frontier handle?

A friend of mine has a 98 Frontier and was asking how much boost could he put on the factory motor. Also he wanted to know what would be better, Supercharged or Turbocharged. His motor is the KA24 DOHC 2.4L in-line 4. The same motor as the Nissan 240SX. Any help would be appreciated.
The motor sucks. I own a 95 240sx and hydro locked my motor (my stupidity). If he wants more HP and has a Ka motor in it I do not see any reason the SR20DETT wouldn't fit. 325hp at the wheel. Its the JDM motor that comes stock in Japanese 240sx'x(silvias)

I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner XE. The tires on it right now are not stock (off-road tires) and ride a little bit too rough in the city. What size and type of tires would be the best all-around tires (and more comfortable) for city/highway driving?

Hands down the best tire I had on my 06 Frontier 4WD. Nice ride on the highway and off-road.

We purchased our 6 cylinder 265 horsepower Nissan Frontier last year, and it's been quite a surprise for a mid size truck. We wanted a standard to pull our camper which ways about 5000, and we didn't even know it was back there. The gas mileage while pulling was quite impressive also... I was just wondering how many other people out there are as pleased with their Frontier as we have been. We have also gotten gutsy and raced a few from red lights and have surprised us and them..... What a great looking truck and awesome power....
