Haven’t we seen this before?

Yes, the Sequoia was on show at the Abu Dhabi motorshow where it was shown alongside the smallest Toyota ever, the diminutive iQ concept. But last week the UAE distributors staged a press launch at their huge showroom in Festival City in Dubai. They even had two of the tallest guys in Dubai on hand to pull the covers off the giant SUV. And further underlined the ‘it’s a bit big’ message, by handing out the largest press packs ever seen!

So it’s big then?

Err, yes, rather. You could fit eight full-size humans into one of these and still have space for luggage, with few, if any complaints about things getting a little cramped. Toyota are targeting the massive American SUVs and Nissan’s Armada with this car.

The front looks a bit familiar?

Well it would do if you’ve lived in America. This is essentially the Toyota Tundra pickup truck on sale there. For here it’s been fitted with a full passenger body. So don’t be fooled by the SUV looks, this is not actually really a proper off-roader, and only comes with rear-wheel drive for now.

Toyota Sequoia?

Can somebody tell me what the average lifespan of a well maintained Toyota Sequoia might be...in terms of mileage?

My wife and I have a Sequoia and a 4-Runner. Prior to that we had a Camry with about 160,000 miles on it. My understanding is that much like many other Toyotas, the Sequoia will run around 200,000+ miles depending on how well you take care of it and what generation it was part of. (A generation is a series of years that a certain body style is made. For instance, with the launch of the new Sequoia, a new generation has been started this year)

How do you open a Toyota Sequoia hatch door that has a broken handle?

I have a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The handle for the back hatch door broke. There seems no way to open the back hatch door now. I don't know how to open the cover from the inside so I can get to the mechanism from the inside. Can someone offer some advice?
How do you remove the inside hatch panel to access the linkage. I see no screws or push-rivets. Do you have to pry it from the edges? Does anyone have some helpful instructions?

What should i get a, 02 Toyota Sequoia or 05 GMC Yukon XL?

I can get a 2002 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4WD and a 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 4WD for 8500$ USD.

The Sequoia has 108k miles and the Yukon has 122k miles. They also do the same gas milage. Now I like size, the bigger the better so i am leaning towards the Yukon but my dad wants me to get the Sequoia. Overall which of these two SUVs should i get?

I look at the overall vehicle and compare maintenance as well as repair cost and the GMC Yukon would be the better bet in the long run...plus the engines in the GMC Yukon are easier to work on.
