How do you replace a FORD E-250 Van Fuel filter/hoses?

I cut the fuel hoses on my 2001 Ford E-250 van to replace the filter and now want to do it right because I've been told it's dangerous since they were pressurized. The dealer wants to charge $600 because they have to replace the whole fuel lines. is there a way around this?

Not really unless you can do the job your self The dealership is right the gas in the line is under pressure but not that much, However you need to clamp it tight if you drive it .
Replacing the line should not be that hard , at lease order one and take a look at it if you see that you can't do the job take it to your local mechanic It won't coast as much,hope this helps.

How do you remove a 1997 Ford E-250 van fuel filter ?

I removed the safety clips on each end but it still will not come off. I note that it has a ridge on each end. Is there a special tool for this?

I agree with aaronh9. You need a special coupler type tool to release the. They usually come in sets of five, if they are the inexpensive plastic type that you buy at most auto parts stores.
